Slick Willie

Meet Slick Willie.

Today I was busy with a diary on DailyKos, and doing my thing, basically letting my son do his thing. I thought his thing was sitting quietly in the chair and watching Barney, but I was so wrong. While he was maxing and relaxing, William helped himself to a little product called Aquaphor.

Aquaphor is a very thick balm for very dry skin. It comes in a tub. Its consistency is somewhere between Vaseline and Crisco. William covered himself in this stuff. Head to toe. Note the thick, opaque goo on his hands. Behold the mighty sheen of his knees.

He was told to park it on his little potty while I rounded up the tools to degrease him. I filled the tub with a nice warm bath and got a wash cloth, a towel and a bottle of dishwashing liquid which proclaimed its usefulness for saving the lives of waterfowl after the Exxon Valdez. I figured that it would be the best in this situation. After a thorough scrubbing the bulk of the Aquaphor is gone, but his skin is incredibly soft.

Came across your blog via Mothertalkers and I was intrigued by the name. The pix of your son reminds me of the time my 3 year old climbed into the baby's crib and colored her from head to toe in red lipstick, lol.

My husband and I have 3 kids ages 14, 12, and 6. It would take me far too long to post their many shenanagans over the years! At the time the lipstick incident wasn't funny. The baby had a red hue to her skin for days. In retrospect, it was hilarious. I can picture the scene perfectly, and this was 10 years ago. I remember being amazed at the time that my daughter didn't start screaming when her sister climbed into the crib and used her as a canvass. It was one of those rare occasions when I was able to get them to take a nap at the same time, and I took advantage of the situation and laid down as well.

I don't post much at Mothertalkers, but enjoy reading the blog. I read many lefty political blogs daily because politics is one of my passions.

My in-laws lived in Los Alamos for many years before they moved to Florida. My family went to visit a few times and I fell in love with New Mexico. I loved the adobe style homes, clean mountain air, and gorgeous sunsets. The high altitude took a bit to get used to as we are from Michigan.

Anyhow, I have added your blog to my fav's list and look forward to your future postings.
